Technology Manager

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Technology Manager is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction to employees in the Technology Department including process team and Quality Assurance team, focusing on the performance and compliance improving on cost, capacity, quality, HSES and reliability with below accountability statement:

• Leading the Zhuhai technology and quality assurance teams to support business realizing operational readiness and continuous improvement in quality, capacity, cost efficiency and new product introduction etc.
• Developing the team capability to ensure sufficient technical & functional capability in place
• The department activities are performed in manner of commitment to HSES excellence and reflecting accountable culture

RESPONSIBILITIES:

HSES:  Technology manager share the accountability of whole Zhuhai plant HSES compliance and performance improving.

• Execute HSES management system and deliver HSES performance from process team and QA lab.
• Drive process optimization and improvement to make safer, more consistent, more efficient production.
• Be accountable for PSI (process Safety information) integrity.
• Assign resource from process engineers to lead PHA and response to demand from production on HSES compliance.
• Perform periodic field surveillance to catch HSES issues and provide coach and guideline to employee for performance improving
• Act as Technology Coordinator to support ECC for emergency response.

Cost control:

• Manage the expenses for process team and QA lab, prepare CAPEX and OPEX budget and tracking the budget execution.
• Continuously improving the efficiency of QA team and optimize the QA consumable cost.
• Optimize the scope of process related projects to improve the project costs efficiency.
• Work with production team to reduce the manufacturing cost through continuous improving projects or other appropriated approaches.
• Drive process engineer to ensure the integrity of cost data in SAP such as BOM, EQS and so on.

Team and Talent Development:

• Ensure team members job fit competence (all aspects). Sustain and develop people & team capability
• Overall prepare the individual development plan and approve training for department personnel. Drive development of all personnel through the PCM process.
• Work with HR and site manager for talent review and successor plan execution. Develop process and quality control expertise resource to meet business demand.
• Develop, maintain and implement department owned process & procedures.
• Ensure the implementation of QA career ladder and Process Engineer career ladder.

Quality and Process Improvement:

• Continuously improve Zhuhai site process capacity and capability through capital projects and CI projects. Assign resource to provide process design (fit for detail engineering) to CAPEX project and endorse final process design.
• Drive structure problem solving tools utilization through whole Technology team to enhance ZH site problem solving capability.
• Accountable for QA lab facility operation and mechanical integrity. Ensure QA data integrity.
• Ensure the implementation of Lubrizol global Product Integrity program at ZH site. Act as custodian of ZH product integrity to ensure the integrity of process and quality related information such as batch sheet, PFD, P&ID, Process data sheet. Material balance, energy balance and so on.
• Work with PTS to optimize Zhuhai capacity to support regional business. Properly manger process and technology related documents and information to protect Lubrizol Intellectual property.
• Interface with business team and sales team to response the request from customers. Investigate and follow customer complaint to improve Lubrizol competitiveness.

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

• Education Background:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required.  An advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  • Chemical industrial manufacturing process background.  Proficiency in MS office software.
• Other Experiences Preferred:
  • At least 5 years of experience in chemical industrial process or research function.
