As a Process Technology Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

 

The Detergents and Small Molecules Process Technology (PT) team has an opening for a PT Engineer.  This team supports successful chemical component manufacturing and commercialization from product initiation through first production for the Lubrizol Additives (LZA) business.  The PT engineer will engage and collaborate with a diverse set of teams throughout the organization.  This role will be responsible for providing operations input to influence decisions throughout the New Component Introduction Process, leading global process technology improvements, and driving asset productivity savings.  The engineer is also a key contact for global manufacturing facilities to provide ongoing Detergent and Small Molecule technology safety support, product quality support, process standardization, and driving continuous improvement.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Early and ongoing engagement with customers, global commercial and technical teams within each business group to understand and implement relevant growth strategies
  • Partner with Process Innovation and Process Technology pilot facilities to identify and validate Most Effective Technology (MET)Plus and Prime value propositions and implementation strategies
  • Drive finished products global alignment and achievement of MET standards
  • Support finished product manufacturing trials to ensure compliance with process capability targets
  • Identify and lead global productivity improvement projects
  • Lead projects and present project status updates, clearly communicate goals, progress, and results
  • Effective collaboration with other departments, such as global commercial and technical teams, Product Integrity, Formulation Science, Supply Chain, Master Data, R&D, Testing, Global Operations, 3rd Party Manufacturing
  • Comply with applicable internal and external Lubrizol and Health, Safety, Environmental and Security policies

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of chemical industry experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver results meeting business expectations
  • Effective at identifying and implementing people, process, and technology changes
  • Effective interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Self-driven with ability to manage and lead multiple projects
  • Continuous improvement focus
  • Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills

 

Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • Lean six sigma experience, green or black belt certification preferred
  • Competency and comfort with Aspen Plus, Aspen Properties, and Aspen Exchanger Design and Rating Modeling Software
