Apprentice - Boiler Attendant

Summary of the Role:

The Boiler Attendant is responsible for To learn and assist safe operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial boilers and associated systems. The role ensures efficient steam generation, compliance with safety norms, and uninterrupted plant operations.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • To learn and assist boiler operator to Operate boilers as per standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • To learn and assist boiler operator  Start up, shut down, and regulate boiler pressure, temperature, and water levels
  • Monitor steam flow, fuel consumption, and combustion efficiency, Condensate recovery ,
  • Continuously check pressure gauges, safety valves, water level indicators, and control panels
  • To learn and assist boiler while recording  hourly/daily boiler parameters in logbooks
  • To learn and assist boiler by Identifying  abnormal operating conditions and take corrective action
  • To learn and assist boiler operator to Ensure proper functioning of safety interlocks and emergency systems
  • To learn and assist boiler while Maintaining  Steam, water quality as per standards (with guidance from Boiler operator )
  • Support operation of feed water pumps, valves, blowdown systems, economizers, and deaerators
  • Following LZAI’s best practices, SOPs, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines.

   

Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

Fresher ITI pass

Education / Certification:

• ITI Certificate in Boiler Attendant or equivalent
