Summary of the Role:

 

Accountable for analyzing demand signals and determining the Supply Plan of both procured and produced materials in the mid-term horizon. Achieving reliable supply and operational efficiency by taking into account inventory, Plant capacities, Operational targets, regional complexities, Market requirements.

 

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

 

Key responsibility is to Support business continuity and customer satisfaction by owning and driving the Supply Plan in the mid-term horizon (1 months – 18 months).  This includes the following areas:

  • Supply Plan determination and review:   The demand/Supply Planner is responsible for determining, reviewing, and analyzing the Supply Plan to define whether the demand plan can be met taking supply limitations and capacity constraints into account.  The resolution of demand and supply at risk by adjusting sourcing options or constraint data in collaboration with the Strategic Planners is essential. 
  • Constraint maintenance and Capacity Utilization review:   The Supply Planner must develop a detailed understanding of manufacturing constraints and capabilities of the manufacturing locations being planned to be able to model these constraints into the planning technology used.
  • Governance and optimization planning related Master Data:   The Supply Planner is accountable for maintaining and optimizing all planning related master data as drivers for an optimal supply plan.

  • Inventory Management:   The Supply Planner is responsible for defining and  maintaining appropriate inventory levels by reviewing system proposed safety stock levels on a monthly basis  in order to ensure a timely material availability and to minimize the impact of demand volatilities. 
  • Supply Review for Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning Process: The Supply Planner leads the Sales & Operations Planning Process by preparing and presenting the Supply Review in regional S&OP meetings.
  • Communication with Demand Planners and Commercial Stakeholders: The Supply Planner is responsible for leading communications with Demand Planners and Commercial Stakeholders based on changes in the demand curves noticed.
  • Technology: The Concurrent Planning Solution used by the Supply Planner is Kinaxis RapidResponse
  • Performance Metrics:   The Supply Planner is responsible for monitoring and driving continuous improvement to the following Metrics:
  • Plan Compliance (Planned vs Actual)
  • Inventory Days of Coverage (including NWSM)
  • Master Data Accuracy
  • Cost control
  • Planning efficiency

 

  • Engagement with team members from Commercial, manufacturing, Customer service and suppliers
  • Communication on changes
  • Propose solutions in case of availability issues, delays, or production issues

 

 

Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

 

Education / Certification:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics Management or other relevant degree with proven data analytics skills
  • APICS Supply chain planning certification
  • Preferred MBA Degree in Operations/Supply chain from reputed university

 

 

Experience and Skills:  

  • At least 7 years of experience working in Supply Planning, Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical skills
  • Detailed knowledge on Supply Planning and Inventory Management
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical skills
  • Good understanding and experience in SAP S4 HANA
  • Knowledge of Kinaxis Rapid Response
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
