What You'll Do:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. Your work will directly impact Maintenance programs at our Louisville, KY Facility.
What We're Looking For:
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations
- Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
- For equipment that is critical for the process, ensure that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc. Provides onsite / offsite technical support for deviations from this data if necessary.
Ensures repairs, repair techniques, and equipment-specific training are made available and documented. - Provides technical support for specification, identification, and purchasing of required parts.
- Provides maintainability input into Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategy.
- Participates with Reliability Engineer in developing facility and equipment maintenance strategies.
- Receives and reviews History Feedback form Crafts when unusual findings are noted.
- Serves as a technical resource to the planner and crafts as needed.
- Updates the MMS system for new equipment and changes to existing equipment resulting from projects based on the equipment data provided by the project team.
- Ensures that scheduled services are entered into the MMS based upon the equipment maintenance strategy or reviews of new equipment that is being installed.
- Drives completion % of PPM tasks and advises the Plant Supervision and Reliability Engineer of any issues impacting the effectiveness of the PPM program. Send report of non-compliance PMs that were skipped monthly.
- Enters notifications for deficiencies discovered during PMs.
- Manages PM deferral process for Compliance related PMs.
- Evaluates the documented results of PPM activities to determine if the PPM activity is achieving the desired results. Answers the, “Is the PM the correct type of PM for the equipment / service?”
- Identifies opportunities to optimize PPM intervals and works with the Reliability Engineer to evaluate the impact of changing PPM intervals upon probability and consequences (i.e. risk). Answers the question, “Is the frequency correct?
- Supports projects and ensures spare parts requirements are updated for both new and demolished equipment.
- Understands the economic impact of decisions associated with the PPM program and spare parts and provides technical input in developing the Maintenance budget.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in Chemical Manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with Preventative maintenance strategy and activities.
