What You'll Do:  

As a Regional Transportation Safety & Compliance Manager for Europe, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving the compliance and security of our gate-to-gate transportation Under the general direction of Global corporate policies and the Responsible Care® Principles. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. Your work will directly impact safety and transportation Regulatory Compliance performance and continuous improvement in the respective areas.

 

What We're Looking For: 

  • Assure that proper registration for HazMat Transportation with the regions is done in a timely manner to assure that product movement is not disrupted.
  • Single Point of Contact for Emergency Response Calls from CHEMTREC and Governmental Regional Agencies. 
  • Coordinate efforts regarding Lubrizol’s Emergency Response Process with CHEMTREC Representatives.
  • Collaborate with Global TS&C Mgr. and other Regional TS&C Mgrs. on appropriate supply chain safety & compliance work processes for all transportation modes.  Provide the effort to embed these process and procedures into daily logistics SOP.
  • Monitor and report logistic related incidents.  Participate in Root Cause Investigation, analyze the incidents and initiate / lead effort to continuously improve the transportation safety performance.
  • Create training programs / materials to promote awareness and improve organization capability.
  • Perform system maintenance and consultation in SAP on applicable transportation regulations.
  • Manage the regional Transportation Incident Response process and constantly review with relative personnel to ensure validity.
  • Address authority citations, fines, violations, or stoppages.
  • Define appropriate packaging and label required in accordance with international and local regulations. Provide consultancy as SME to regional SC team.
  • Define regional LSP EHS Qualification Process and perform Qualification Audits for 3rd Party Logistics Services Providers in collaboration with Logistics Operations.
  • Lead / Participate in logistics vendor engagement programs as required.
  • Monitor changes and interpretations of new and existing regulations as well as industry standards in the region.
  • Communicate global and regional transportation issues to pertinent personnel within region.
  • Monitor and communicate dangerous goods classification changes, transport regulatory changes and transport policy/procedure/practice changes.
  • Where appropriate, be a member of committees (industry) and associations in chemical industry.

 

 Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong technical background in HSE and Transportation.
  • Hands on experience in logistics / site logistics / manufacturing.
  • Capable to remain fully available in case of emergency.
  • Auditing experience is required.
  • ISO Process knowledge.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Safety, Compliance, Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
  • Ability to interpret and apply multiple regulatory requirements.
  • Around 30% travel requirements mainly in Europe.
