What Will Be Your Environment:

The Franklin, WI location is about 15 miles south of Milwaukee, and has about 350 employees. As part of the Advanced Materials division, this site manufactures medical devices such as silicone tubes used in surgeries. Many of our team members operate in a cleanroom environment to maintain safety regulations of these products. 

 

What You'll Do:

The Material Handler is primarily responsible for storage and movement of finished products in safe and efficient manner.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Prepare finished goods products for final shipment by verifying information on internal document is correct, properly labeled, in correct packaging and box sizes, and route shipping transactions through operating system to prepare items for invoicing.
  • Be responsible for verifying packages and shipments and complete applicable paperwork including enter information in ERP system.
  • Manage Kanban shipping operations by verifying proper documentation (Kanban cards) are included with product that is transferred to shipping dock and route proper documentation to production schedulers to build further product requirements.
  • Manage finished goods inventory and overstock items.
  • Understand and follow the SOP’s pertaining to the specific area.
  • Understand and follow the Work Instructions pertaining to the specific area.
  • Suggests improvements to reduce safety hazards.
  • Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
  • Assist with locating sample items per requests from customer service and/or sales teams.
  • Assist with year-end inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Successful completion of four-years of high school, GED or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or similar environment.
  • Ability to learn and work in a fast paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational, Technical, or Associate's education.
  • Previous shipping and/or receiving experience.
  • Finished medical device company experience.
  • Experience with QAD or other ERP system.

 

Physical Demands:

  • This physical demand level for this job is considered medium with constant lifting between 10-25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to lifting more than 50 pounds is rare.

  • The employee may frequently be subject to push/pulling, knuckle to shoulder lift/lower, sustained bending, use foot/feet to operate machine and reach above shoulders, with constant exposure to dynamic standing/walking and use hands to finger/handle/touch. 

  • Employee may occasionally be exposed to static standing/sitting, floor to knuckle lift/lower, shoulder to overhead lift/lower, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and repetitive bending or squatting.
