Summary of the Role:

Officer - Mechanical is responsible for executing plant and utility maintenance activities on his own with compliance to all related legal and Lubrizol HSES policies and requirements under the guidance of Manager - Mechanical & Utility. He will perform day to day routine plant maintenance /preventive/predictive maintenance activities to support manufacturing activities. As and when required, he will perform plant modification related activities.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

  • Executing preventive & predictive maintenance of plant and utility equipment as per schedule.
  • Attending breakdown maintenance jobs of plant and utility equipment/piping system. 
  • Support contractor’s team and vendor’s service team at site to execute the jobs. Supervise their work, quality & safety performance.
  • Understand equipment criticality and associated relevant requirements and health mapping of critical equipments.
  • Identification of maintenance spares and consumables required for plant and utility.
  • Planning and coordination for procurement of required spares/consumables in consultation with Manager – Mechanical & Utility.
  • Maintain the stock/inventory of spares/consumables at engineering store and support engineering store function in inventory handling.
  • Planning and scheduling of day-to-day maintenance jobs by co-ordination with cross functional team.
  • Conducting risk assessment involved in all jobs along with JSA (Job Safety Analysis) of non-routine & critical jobs.
  • Adherence to ISO system and maintaining records and documents as per ISO as well as department functional requirements like Equipment History Cards, Reports, MoM, Certificates etc.
  • Ensuring 100% legal compliances applicable to department based on Factories act and other statutory bodies.
  • Understand & execute pre-defined procedures of jobs for compliance, good engineering practices, good Housekeeping.
  • Take appropriate decision during shift to ensure continuity of plant and utility operations.
  • Operation of utility at optimum efficiency and ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities inline to plant requirement.
  • Learn & understand various plant systems and conduct troubleshooting of equipments and systems as per requirement.

 

Requirements (education, experience, competencies, and specific job requirements):

Education / Certification: 

  • Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

 

Experience and Skills:  

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience of plant maintenance and utilities operation & maintenance in chemical / petrochemical plants.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance and trouble shooting in chemical plants.
  • Experience on utility operation, maintenance and trouble shooting of Chillers, Air Compressor, Cooling Tower, Pump, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Water Softening System, ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) /STP (Sewage Treatment Plant).
  • Well conversant with industry best practices for plant preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Previous experience of working as maintenance technician/associates in rotational shift working environment of MNC or chemical company related to batch operations.
  • Energy & Water conservation skills.
  • Computer Skills: MS-Word/Excel/Power point, SAP
  • Working knowledge of English.
