Job Type: Full-time with OT; Onsite
Shift + Hours: all shifts
- 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm
- 2nd shift: 2pm-10:30pm
- 3rd shift: 10pm-6:30am
Hourly Pay Rates:
- Level I: $21.50/hr
- Level II: $23/hr
- Level III: $28/hr
Shift Differential:
- 2nd shift: 5%
- 3rd shift: 10%
Overtime available
Sign-On and Productivity Bonuses
Annual Bonus: 6%

How You’ll Make an Impact
As an Extrusion Operator/Technician, you will play a critical role in producing medical grade tubing to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You’ll operate state-of-the-art extrusion equipment in a clean room environment, helping to supply the world with essential medical components. You'll collaborate safely with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:
- Safety & Communication: Operate safely with hot plastics, extrusion machinery, and automation; communicate safety observations clearly in writing and verbally.
- Compliance & Lean: Follow all cGMP/GDP standards, company policies, 5S, and lean manufacturing practices; use SMED tools for efficient changeovers.
- Work Area & Shift Readiness: Clean, set up, assemble, and maintain work areas; restock supplies; complete shift handoffs and line clearances accurately.
- Documentation & Verification: Verify routers/work orders before and during production; document process parameters and maintain accurate production records.
- Quality & Measurement: Collect and inspect product; use Zumbach, MicroVu, pin/snap gauges, and other metrology tools; run moisture tests and ensure tubing meets specifications.
Level I — Operator:
- Operate extrusion equipment and perform setups with support; assist with Zumbach monitoring and guided process debugging.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, moisture tests, dimensional checks, cutting/measurement, and ensure tubing meets required specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation with guidance, restock materials, clean equipment, and ensure effective shift to shift communication.
Level II — Technician:
- Independently set up and run single lumen/single layer extrusion jobs; configure Zumbach and verify tools/dies with minimal support.
- Complete line clearances and all associated paperwork without assistance; perform MicroVu measurements, gauge inspections, and moisture testing.
- Perform controlled debugging/modifications with some support; remove/document dryer material and maintain readiness for next shift.
Level III — Technician (Advanced Processes):
- Independently run at least 3 advanced extrusion processes (e.g., bump, multi-lumen, coex/tri-layer, braided, vacuum, tight tolerance/thin wall).
- Set up and maintain all auxiliary equipment; independently debug and modify single lumen/single layer processes to reduce scrap and improve quality.
- Perform all testing (moisture, elongation, shrinkage, burst, peel) and maintain all documentation autonomously with full process ownership.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
Level I:
- 1+ years of experience working as a machine operator or technician in a plant, manufacturing, or industrial environment
Level II:
- 2+ years of experience working as a plastics extrusion operator or technician
Level III:
- 5+ years of experience working as a plastics extrusion operator or technician
All Levels:
- Education: HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent education degree
- Instruction & SOP Discipline: Comfortable following written instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Safety, Quality & Detail Orientation: Strong safety mindset with high attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality products.
- Teamwork & Adaptability: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset; willingness to learn, grow, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Math & Measurement Skills: Demonstrated basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, unit conversions).
Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward
- Technical or Associate’s Degree in a related field
- Experience with entering electronic work order documentation
- QAD and SAP experience
- Medical Device industry experience
