What You Will Do:
The Production Scheduler/Purchasing Agent role involves working closely with various departments to maintain adequate product inventories through effective production planning and disciplined manufacturing schedules. This position is critical for ensuring seamless operations at the Clifton plant, requiring the individual to handle multiple responsibilities related to inventory control, raw material procurement, production planning, and more.
What We're Looking For:
- Determine production needs and establish schedules based on customer demand, safety stock levels, and capacity constraints.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Supply Chain to ensure product availability, notifying Customer Service of any delays.
- Establish safety stock levels for packaged products based on historical usage, sales forecasts, and current demand.
- Monitor slow-moving and non-working inventories, reworking and blending as needed.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to maintain adequate finished product stock and address storage space issues.
- Purchase raw materials needed to support the production schedule and confirm pricing with suppliers and Corporate Purchasing.
- Investigate alternate suppliers and raw material versions based on market changes to improve productivity and safety.
- Set shipping requirements with suppliers regarding equipment, labeling, and delivery times.
- Represent the plant in quality and service issues involving raw materials and suppliers, maintaining service and quality records.
- Develop production schedules based on inventory levels, historical usage, sales forecasts, and customer requirements.
- Enter raw material purchase orders into SAP S4, create process orders, generate batch sheets, and reconcile completed batch data.
- Support the Warehouse Manager and Production Department, maintain critical inventory levels, and assist with special projects and HSE&S responsibilities.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Five years minimum of experience in manufacturing and/or production planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with ISO9001
Considered a Plus:
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office
- 5S experience
- Bachelor’s degree in science or business
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and handle objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- M-F, 8 hour shift, willingness to support OT as needed
- Must live in a daily commutable range from the facility and have reliable transportation
