What You'll Do:

As a Reliability Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, ensuring the reliability of processes, systems and equipment while meeting all safety, environmental, cost, delivery, and quality objectives. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. The Reliability Engineer will execute operational reliability improvements by analyzing performance data to prioritize, identify and eliminate causes of equipment failures. The Reliability Engineer must interact effectively at all levels of the organization as a technical resource that provides engineering assistance for equipment (rotating, fixed, electrical, or instrumentation).

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Develop and Manage the PSM Mechanical Integrity program: Retention of required maintenance records; evaluate fitness for service following UT inspections on tanks, heat exchangers and piping.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long term solutions to improve the reliability of plant equipment and eliminate unscheduled downtime.
  • Develop and coordinate the administration for the plant preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including the control of all data and the specification for the content and frequencies of work and inspections. Accurately measure, test and analyze equipment condition and develop an appropriate preventative maintenance schedule to reduce premature equipment failures.
  • Develop engineering solutions to maintenance problems, including ways of reducing or eliminating the need for maintenance through equipment replacement or improvement work.
  • Leads the site’s objective of assuring critical spare parts are identified and strategies for critical spare part access are in place.
  • Assists with definitions and tracking of Key Performance Indicators for site equipment and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinates with area owners and project engineers in analyzing equipment maintenance problems, project work and determining solutions.
  • Analyzes the effects of preventive maintenance on equipment reliability and maintenance costs for evaluation as a basis for equipment design decisions.
  • Prepares cost estimates and appropriation requests as necessary for maintenance engineering work and prepares special reports as required.
  • Assists in updating drawings and maintenance data, coordinating this effort with Plant Engineering and Production Engineers.
  • Maintains asset and plant equipment records.
  • Provide training to mechanics and / or operators as necessary to ensure that reliability is factored into daily tasks.
  • Review code and engineering standards related to project design requirements.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions which lead to equipment and process improvements.
  • Liaison between Maintenance and Project Engineering in the development, design and installation of capital projects.
  • Assists in coordinating the activities of outside contractors as appropriate to maintenance engineering objectives.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of Maintenance or Reliability Engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with SAP, MS Office, MS Projects or similar CMMS software.
  • Ability to self-direct and work well within a team.
  • Ability to lead and coach in a positive and constructive way.
  • Proven ability to be a successful change agent, including teaching and mentoring others.

 

Considered a Plus:

  • Formal training or equivalent experience in the use of Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with Visio & AutoCAD.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Chemical Plant experience.
  • Mechanical Engineering.
  • Instrumentation and Controls.
