How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Site Maintenance and Reliability Leader, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
As the Site Maintenance & Reliability Leader, you will provide strategic leadership in developing and executing a comprehensive Maintenance and Reliability Strategy across the Wickliffe and Brecksville sites. These locations serve as the hub of Lubrizol’s corporate campus, supporting R&D laboratories, testing facilities, and pilot plant operations.
In this role, you will establish functional goals, guide long‑range financial planning, and leverage the full suite of maintenance and reliability work processes, best practices, tools, and organizational resources to drive operational performance. You will ensure compliance with all EH&S and Mechanical Integrity requirements while serving as the primary owner of the Maintenance & Reliability Work Process and discipline. You will lead safety, reliability, and cost‑management initiatives; enhance work process utilization and operating discipline; define the skills and capabilities required for success; and oversee the tracking, analysis, and continuous improvement of maintenance and reliability results across both sites.
In this role, you will:
- Functions as the administrative leader for all maintenance and reliability resources and acts as the overall process owner for both Maintenance and Reliability work processes.
- Ensures effective execution, improvement, integration, and sustainability of maintenance and reliability processes across Operations, EH&S, Engineering, and other functions.
- Creates a culture where everyone has a role in maintenance and reliability improvement.
- Owns the site 3‑year Reliability Improvement Plan, 5‑year asset plan, and annual/3‑year maintenance budget aligned with site strategy and turnaround cycles.
- Leads the function to achieve maintenance cost, asset availability, and reliability goals through opportunity identification and leveraging of standard solutions and MET.
- Initiates, implements, and manages the plant Reliability Program, including RCM, criticality, PM/PdM strategies, RCA, risk-based approaches, and Life Cycle Analysis.
- Coordinates cross-functional teams to address significant maintenance and reliability opportunities and ensures effective resource leveraging, including contractors.
- Ensures Maintenance and Reliability principles, MET, and mechanical integrity requirements are integrated into new projects.
- Ensures compliance with the Management of Change (MOC) process for equipment, materials, and related operating disciplines.
- Accountable for the safety, productivity, quality, and overall effectiveness of the maintenance and reliability workforce.
- Sets clear expectations aligned with site goals and measures performance against work process requirements and targeted results.
- Prepares and analyzes reports, metrics, and production loss data to identify opportunities and drive improvements in reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Ensures the site develops and executes an effective multi‑year turnaround plan with defined scope, cost control, discovery allowances, and steering oversight.
- Executes performance management and ensures competency development, training, and succession planning for maintenance and reliability staff.
- Ensures delivery of service agreements and optimization of contract services.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering.
- 10+ years of operational experience within a chemical plant in a maintenance or reliability engineering role.
- 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience through leading/managing cross-functional teams (preferably across multiple sites)
- 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience as a Champion for change.
- Experience with applicable building codes with a NFPA-NEC, API, or ASME certification.
- Detailed knowledge of maintenance & reliability work process (planning, scheduling, logistics, etc.)
- Exceptional leadership and people management abilities, inspiring and motivating teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving operational excellence and process improvements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at engaging stakeholders at all levels, and building relationships with site leaders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and adhering to timelines. Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- Successful completion of a leadership development training program
