Senior Corporate Travel Consultant

 

The Opportunity

 

As a Senior Corporate Travel Consultant in our corporate office, you will work closely with the other members of our travel, TMC and finance teams to ensure that all travel requests are executed efficiently and within established policies and guidelines. In our fast-paced team environment, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and take pride in delivering a premium level of service with attention to detail.  A well-rounded understanding of all aspects of the travel industry is required.  As a senior consultant, your expertise will help identify and implement improvements that will drive results.  This position reports to the Global Travel and Meeting Services Manager, and will work collaboratively with 3-4 travel team professionals.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Handle all aspects of planning and booking corporate travel arrangements with the Lubrizol North America Travel Team
  • Assist GTM to manage our travel programs and work closely with our TMC CSM to deliver the best global travel program available
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization with clarity, tact and diplomacy
  • Coach and guide travel team where more difficult and complex travel computations/allowances are involved
  • Listen and be a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations which provide the very best traveler experience in each situation
  • Share experience and best practices with travel team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support
  • Perform root cause analysis when problems arise to develop permanent corrective actions
  • Ensure queues are worked properly to verify correct records processing, ticketing and queue count
  • Create and conduct training for team members, cross-functional departments and employees
  • Develop metrics and reports to help influence decisions and foster improvements as well as policy compliance
  • Work across Concur expense, accounting, finance and risk teams to maintain alignment
  • Apply subject matter expertise to suggest regional and global ideas for process improvements.
  • Take the lead with resolving debit memos, technical issues and quality control of reservations.
  • Support and assist with T&E credit card program, as needed.
  • Enhance and maintain post travel survey program
  • Collaborate and assist with value added projects requested by senior management

 

What We’re Looking For

 

  • 10+ years of corporate travel experience required
  • College degree in travel management, preferred
  • Expertise with the Galileo/Apollo GDS travel system
  • Advanced experience working with online booking tools, including Concur and TMC reporting packages
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge of ticketing rules and regulations, complex domestic and international fares, as well as regional and international travel trends
  • Positive attitude and a will to succeed
  • High energy, innovative and results oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines under pressure, including high attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Thorough geographic and industry product knowledge of destinations and suppliers
  • Flexible, with the ability to pivot and adjust to the needs of the teams you support
  • Excels in internal customer service
