Job Summary:

The Operations Support Supervisor manages the support functions of waste inventory management, tank farm operations and inventory management for the Wickliffe Site.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) performance of the department through compliance and root cause investigations
  • Supervise, coach, and develop employees and temporary employees
  • Coordinate employee interviews, vacations, timecard approvals, performance discussions
  • Coordinate package waste manifest (lab pack) and bulk (truck) waste shipments of hazardous and nonhazardous waste with approved waste vendors
  • Ensures operating equipment in the tank farms, effluent water, and waste pumping operations are properly maintained
  • Participates in various audits both internal and external related to department standards and regulatory compliance
  • Manages workforce that supports storage tank farm loading, unloading, and blending of various testing fuels
  • Supports capital projects that add to or modify equipment and support systems
  • Contributes to document revisions related to training, department policies and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) 
  • Works closely with PDD Operations, Mechanical Testing, and Plant Maintenance to coordinate/schedule preventative maintenance and shutdowns in respective areas
  • Additional duties as assigned


Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working in chemical or manufacturing industry
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Initiative-taker with ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote)


Considered a Plus:

  • Formal BUSTR training
  • Formal RCRA and DOT training
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Experience with railcar and tank truck loading and unloading operations
  • Experience with SAP, PI Process Book, Autodesk/AutoCAD applications
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Familiar with instrumentation and Control Systems (DeltaV)


Working Conditions:

  • Willing/able to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Willing/able to be on call during nights/weekends as needed
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Must maintain PPE expectations when working in specific areas
