Lubrizol is currently looking for an Operations Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will provide financial insights to support operations objectives in the areas of product costs, opex and fixed assets.

Additionally, you will provide accurate and compliant financial reports and ensure a strong internal control environment. This position will be dually based out of our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH and corporate headquarters in Brecksville, OH following a hybrid working model. Additionally, in this position, you will provide controller support for our Pedricktown, NJ site. This would include maintaining GAAP and company compliant financials, accurate valuation of product costs, inventories, and fixed assets, as well as financial insights to support the plant management's objectives. 

 

What you will do:

  • Participate in the monthly closing and quarterly close job tasks, including journal entries, reviews, account reconciliations, reporting, and property accounting.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyze financial information monitoring key performance metrics.
  • Ensure that accurate controls and measures on spending, production, working capital, and fixed assets are in place and functioning appropriately.
  • Drive and support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including process optimization and standardization.
  • Complete government, tax, and insurance requests relative to manufacturing.
  • Assist in the annual budget process.
  • Complete monthly financial closing and reporting for the Pedricktown, NJ plant in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Complete variance analysis and report key plant financial and performance metrics.  Communicate results through published reports and personal communication.  Review and analyze variances and adjustments on a monthly basis.
  • Lead the annual operating expense budget process and complete forecasting requirements.  Establish annual labor and overhead rates.  Assist with the annual capital budgeting process.
  • Ensure that internal controls and measures on spending, production, working capital, and fixed assets are in place and functioning appropriately. Safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with internal control narratives and policies.
  • Responsible for inventory reporting and control, including cycle counting, Non-Working Slow Moving (NWSM), and annual physical inventory.
  • Function as capital project administrator. Ensure that proposed capital projects include all appropriate documentation as to justification, classification of capital vs. expense, asset write-offs, and IRR, NPV and payback period calculations where required. Work closely with plant manager and plant/project engineers to ensure capital projects are closed in a timely manner.

 

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field
  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing accounting and/or varied financial/analytical accounting positions.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Proven self-starter with a desire to achieve; strong team focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively with other departments
     

What will put you ahead: 

  • CPA and/or MBA or equivalent
  • Previous plant, cost accounting, or operations finance experience.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, BOBJ, Power BI, or advanced Excel functions.
     

Where you'll work:

  • Primarily in an office setting at our Wickliffe and Brecksville sites, with occasional work done within the plant.
  • Occasionally weekends will be required for physical inventory or special projects.
  • Up to 15% travel required for physical inventories, training, and plant visits. 
  • Hybrid work schedule with flexibility.
