Job Summary:

The Material Handler will report to the PDD Environmental Supervisor and is responsible for performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Remove, scan, label and put away drums, bag stock and freight from Pilot Plant Operations areas and Shipping and Receiving.
  • Operate tow motors for moving raw materials and waste around the Wickliffe site.
  • Maintain PDD inventory, accurately account for material being added and removed using inventory management programs (Scheduler Inventory and SRMS).
  • Complete Inventory Transfer Requests (ITRs) timely and accurately.
  • Perform and properly record safety inspections of work area and equipment.   
  • Prepare maintenance orders for equipment and area repairs.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices in all work areas and equipment.
  • Work with Wickliffe Shipping and Receiving department to efficiently receive PDD raw materials and prepare PDD production materials for shipment.
  • Participate in departmental safety meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:                         

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
  • Ability to be self-motivated without immediate supervision.
  • Strong attention to details.

Considered a Plus:

  • Previous tow motor experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams programs.
  • Working knowledge of SRMS and Scheduler Inventory systems.
  • Previous experience identifing opportunities for process improvement and acting on them.

Working Conditions:

  •  Extended periods of climbing ladders and stairways, sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, moving
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work will be performed in mixed environments including warehouse and outdoors.
  • Occasional overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to wear a Respirator.
