The Maintenance Craftsman is responsible for building and grounds painting tasks by performing the following duties:

Job Duties:

  • Grounds maintenance: snow removal, rubbish removal, recycle pickup.
  • Building maintenance: painting, equipment/furniture moves and set-ups.
  • Operate and utilize tools of the trade including some heavy equipment
  • General repairs and installation of structural components and materials
  • General labor assignments
  • Additional duties as assigned


  • High school or equivalent from an accredited school
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in general commercial construction (painting)
  • Knowledge of some of the following skills: Drywall, tile, carpentry, masonry, concrete, painting, reading prints and diagrams, tools of the trade.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills and has the ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Strong dependability
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Customer focused
  • Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
  • Willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-ins
  • Considered a plus:
    • Snowplowing experience
    • Previous chemical plant experience or knowledge of chemical hazards
    • Formal technical/trade schools or certifications
    • Computer skills
    • Previous experience in a team-based work environment

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Working on ladders, lifts, pipe racks and in confined spaces.
  • Wearing all required personal protective equipment.
