Explore our Human Resources Internship

The HR Intern will work with the Corporate HR staff in Northeast Ohio with opportunities for global collaboration. Primary duties will be focused with the HR partner groups (HR Generalists) providing HR support and guidance to the corporate divisions.  In addition, the intern will experience rotations through specialty areas such as Compensation, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR Generalists to train managers on topics including onboarding, termination, legal compliance, succession planning, and much more.
  • Partner with HR and hiring managers to update/create job descriptions and career ladders.
  • Assist the Compensation team with market data surveys and salary administration planning.
  • Research best practices on HR programs and policies and present findings to business leaders.
  • Analyze and compile people data (turnover, compensation, talent data, etc.) utilizing Pivot tables, charts and forms.
  • Attend meetings with business leaders to learn about the Lubrizol business and identify employee/manager needs.
  • Participate in candidate interviews for entry-level positions.
  • Assist with the population of data and reporting of SAP Success Factors modules.
  • Learn about the talent management cycle and how talent is moved around the organization.
  • Take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed by each department leader.

 

Requirements:

  • Able to work full-time during the summer (40 hours per week) and part-time (15-20 hours per week) during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a HR concentration from an accredited college or university with a graduation date of May 2019 for a Fall 2018 - May 2019 internship or have a graduation date of May 2020 for May 2019 - May 2020 internship.
  • Students with a GPA at or above 3.0 will be given priority consideration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (candidates will be asked to complete a short Excel test during the interview process).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Lead decisively by being timely and self-motivated with the ability to pick up new concepts.
  • Think external by fostering curiosity to learn and explore new ideas in a HR capacity.
