HR Change and Engagement Manager

Lubrizol is seeking an HR Change and Engagement Manager to join the Global Human Resources team.  In this role, you will work globally across HR, as well as partner with our Global Communications team, to craft HR change management, knowledge management and employee engagement strategies and communications.  Your role will be to highlight how Lubrizol cares about our people, whether it’s through our ever-evolving benefits, training, diversity and inclusion efforts, compensation, or other people programs.  You will influence HR program direction and help connect dots across the organization to ensure we’re putting our people’s experience at the center.  This role will also lead the change management components of Lubrizol’s multi-year HR transformation.

Accountability Statement:  Develop and lead global HR change management, knowledge management and employee engagement strategies and communications that drive ownership and action.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and deliver effective change management strategies and communications related to HR transformation, employer brand, employee benefits, compensation, and other HR policies, programs and major HR change initiatives. 
  • Lead our HR employee engagement strategy inclusive of surveys and response to employee feedback.
  • Partner with Global Communications to maintain alignment with the Lubrizol corporate brand and strategic business initiatives. Keep abreast of best practices in change management, HR programs and employee communication trends.
  • Build mechanisms for feedback on HR communications and employee experience. Serve as a steward of HR communications to balance the need for detail with efficiency and agility to ensure communications are relevant and drive behavioral change. Ensure employee communications comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement knowledge management strategies for employees to access HR resources and for HR professionals to be more efficient and effective in their work.  Lead the continuous improvement of HR knowledge management channels – HR websites, internal social media, etc. – with a passion for placing the user experience first.
  • Manage HR change management and communications work streams from initial client meetings and concept development to final execution. Develop project plans and timelines and document project budgets. Balance multiple assignments and schedule workload to meet established deadlines.
  • Develop standard HR change management and communication templates that can be leveraged and tailored at multiple levels, ensuring simplicity and consistency across the HR organization. Teach others in HR how to develop and deliver their own content in alignment with strategy.


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in change management, communications and/or marketing roles to include supporting HR and internal change and communication programs
  • Extensive experience writing and programming for varied formats (long-form, short-form), mediums (web, video, digital) and audiences (external and internal)
  • Change and communications planning and implementation experience, including the ability to integrate and coordinate various elements into an actionable plan
  • Experience implementing engagement strategies inclusive of managing programming and employee surveys
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits, compensation and human resources programs
  • Demonstrated writing, storyboarding, and presentation development skills that engage and influence
  • Proven track record of engaging senior leaders and building key relationships to drive change and influence business decisions
  • Strong project management and work plan development experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, HR or related field
  • Executive communications experience within a global organization
