How You’ll Make an Impact

 

As a Financial Analyst, you will support the Lubrizol Additives (LZA) FP&A organization across monthly close, forecasting, reporting, and financial planning activities. This early-career role provides broad exposure to LZA financial processes while building a strong foundation in FP&A. The analyst partners with the Additives Leadership Team (ALT), business unit finance teams, and Corporate Functions to deliver accurate, timely financial information and continue developing analytical and business-partnering skills. In this role, you will focus on:

Monthly Close & Reporting

  • Support weekly ALT reporting by updating and reviewing current order position versus Current Estimate, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Prior Year.
  • Collect and consolidate volume estimates from LZA teams and assist with reconciliations to order position.
  • Review daily sales changes during close and flag notable adjustments for review.
  • Assist with analysis of OPEX journal entries using S4 and ECC reports to identify unusual activity.
  • Monitor SG&A results versus forecast and AOP, and support variance analysis.
  • Perform reconciliations between K03 report and the Income Statement, coordinating with the PA Group as needed.

Forecasting & Planning

  • Support the SG&A forecasting process, including coordination with Corporate Functions and data loading into the OPEX Dashboard.
  • Assist with SG&A AOP development and consolidation of submissions.
  • Prepare analyses explaining SG&A year-to-date performance versus AOP and prior year.
  • Track LZA administrative headcount and OPEX, supporting variance monitoring and reporting accuracy.

Executive Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly executive review agendas and supporting materials for leadership reviews.
  • Contribute to monthly executive review presentation content, including cash flow, OPEX, T&E, and SG&A commentary.
  • Support coordination of the monthly executive review deck to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely completion.

OPEX Dashboard & Cost Center Management

  • Review cost center assignments and support corrections through the Cost Center Mailbox.
  • Help validate SG&A and OPEX data and assist with troubleshooting system or reporting issues.

Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Support

  • Support the LZA AOP process in partnership with the Senior Manager, FP&A.
  • Assist with data collection, consolidation, and analysis to support annual planning activities.
  • Gain exposure to long-range planning, cost management, and strategic financial analysis.

Ad-Hoc Analysis & Business Support

  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis requests from leadership and business partners.
  • Build problem-solving, analytical models to a variety of business questions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in FP&A, accounting, finance, or analytics.
  • Solid financial and analytical skills with experience supporting forecasting, variance analysis, or management reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and explain key drivers clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward:

  • Experience with SAP (S/4, ECC) or other reporting tools
