Stakeholder Communication and Engagement

 

Reports to: Global Director Corporate Sustainability

 

 

 

OVERVIEW

 

Responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership to address stakeholder communications and requests for corporate sustainability information. This includes, but is not limited to addressing surveys, questionnaires, and third-party subscription rating services to assure timely, accurate, and consistent responses and to continuously improve the associated processes leading to improved scores. This position is also responsible for leading the efforts for the annual GRI report and other stakeholder communication needs.

 

This position may work out of the Wickliffe or Brecksville, Ohio locations.

 

Accountability

 

This position is accountable for developing, implementing, and managing a formal process to respond to requests for sustainability information that allows for timely, accurate and consistent responses.  This work enables an understanding of trends and analysis so that the organization can move into more proactive capabilities.

 

This is a highly visible position requiring significant communication and interaction with all levels of the organization. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Lead the effort to develop and implement the corporate sustainability stakeholder Request for Information process, encompassing environment, social, governance, and economic (ESG+E) information.  This includes collaborating with functional areas and GBU’s across the organization to assure accurate and consistent responses.
  • Coordinate the completion of sustainability surveys, questionnaires and third-party subscription scoring services and use the surveys to help identify areas for improvement, to include:
  • Complete customer surveys in a timely fashion and perform gap analysis to determine actions to improve both scores and Lubrizol’s sustainability effort.
  • Complete, external, third-party subscription surveys (CDP, EcoVadis, etc.) in a timely fashion and perform gap analysis to determine areas for future score improvements.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to gain insight on material concerns or upcoming focus areas.
  • Communicate with survey providers to gain insight into methodology and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track survey results and scores to identify trends and areas where Lubrizol can better leverage its sustainability story.
  • Research aspects of the company to uncover examples of Lubrizol’s sustainability efforts.
  • Improve processes for survey completion, optimizing efficiency and increasing accuracy.
  • Lead the efforts for the GRI report, including a thorough understanding of the management practices required to improve Lubrizol’s management systems approach to sustainability.
  • Provide leadership, insights, and recommendations to all areas of sustainability to help Lubrizol improve and advance our sustainability message and initiatives.

 

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor degree in a field that supports the sustainability initiative
  • Five or more years of experience in a technical, analytical, or similar role preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Experience with sustainability or environmental background is a plus
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment
  • Ability to work successfully with internal and external customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and address challenges
