How You’ll Make an Impact:
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and tracking production orders to ensure On‑Time‑In‑Full (OTIF) delivery to customers. This role balances customer demand, forecasts, production capacity, and material availability to optimize manufacturing performance, inventory levels, and resource utilization while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
In this role, you will:
- Plan, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demand, forecasts, and capacity constraints while supporting OTIF performance
- Manage inventory, work‑in‑process (WIP), lead times, and safety stock to align with current business conditions and operational requirements Collaborate with Operations to establish manufacturing lead times, validate material requirements, and identify capacity or supply gaps
- Monitor raw material availability and manage purchasing activities, including initiating, releasing, expediting, and rescheduling purchase orders
- Confirm customer orders based on lead times and proactively communicate shipment risks or delays to Customer Service
- Coordinate cross‑functional support for special manufacturing projects and non‑standard production requirements
- Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing and supply chain KPIs (OTIF, inventory turns, inventory accuracy, schedule adherence) and perform root‑cause analysis for delays
- Support Finance reporting, Lean/5S initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts; perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, and completion of two years of college, technical school, or an associate degree is also required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience working with ERP systems such as QAD or similar platforms
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and solve problems effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and work instructions across production areas
- Light physical demand level; primarily office‑based with constant use of a personal computer and standard office software
