The senior director will lead the regional technology teams overseeing the alignment of technology needs with the business leaders. The senior director will be responsible for technology delivery, new product commercialization, budget stewardship, technical talent development, resource planning, technical support, and execution of strategic initiatives. The senior director will lead a team of managers overseeing specific technology areas and testing laboratories. In addition, the Senior Director Additives Technology will be responsible for supporting their region’s growth plans and strategic initiatives for the achievement of business objectives.

 

Key Priorities

  • Lead Technology delivery teams via stage gate process aligned with business priorities and justifications.
  • Lead technical product support and service teams for our customers and OEM stakeholders including new product commercialization.
  • Provide financial stewardship including forecasts, budgeting, business justifications for expenditures, and resource planning.
  • Facilitate program prioritizations with regional business leaders.
  • Foster a safety culture and application of PITSTOP framework for the entire team.
  • Lead execution of strategic initiatives including localization, data platform enhancements, product stewardship.
  • Develop manager bench strength and participate in technical ladder career development initiatives.
  • Lead, manage and develop the team, fostering effective communication, teamwork, and strategic alignment while instilling a culture of urgency and accountability for new product delivery. Ensures engagement and alignment of both direct and indirect reports.
  • Set and deliver productivity improvement goals. Constantly assess non-value adding activities and shuffle resources to align with the strategy.
  • Establish strong relationships with industry experts and customers, proactively supporting the commercial team in identifying new opportunities and expanding our value proposition and market influence. 
     

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and/or Engineering related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in fuels, industrial lubricants and/or additives, specialty chemical, or petrochemical industries.
  • A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
  • Experience with technology commercialization or technical service
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
