The Marketing Manager provides direct marketing support to customers and product management groups for Lubrizol Additives (LZA). The marketing manager will work closely with commercial and business development stakeholders. The position involves coordination with the sales team for customer marketing support programs that enhance LZA’s overall value proposition through consultative and creative campaign services. Additionally, this position will support marketing efforts for key product management group initiatives focused on the region, including market messaging and product marketing strategy development and execution. The job reports to the Regional Marketing Manager, supports all end-use businesses across LZA, and is geographically scoped to support India, Middle East and Africa.
Description:
- Assist the Regional Marketing Manager in providing marketing service support to our direct customers. This is coordinated through the sales force and led by the Regional Marketing Manager and includes discovery, marketing strategy development, and execution in line with the identified marketing programs
- Deliver support to key LZA business product management group initiatives focused on products, industry trends, and lubricant category or OEM specification upgrades. This is coordinated through the marketing manager and ensures that additive product marketing and promotion efforts are aligned with specific needs.
- Manage market knowledge that can be used as insights in sales enablement and customer impact presentations. These activities will require coordination with groups across the organization.
- Support the customer experience process through ongoing relationships with the regional sales team—site visits, tours, training programs, etc.
- Create content and messaging strategies for industry events and customer events. Consideration of global brand and messaging strategies translated to meet local needs is required.
- Provide support in collaboration with the Consumer & Market Insights group to assess specific market needs/gaps through use of market maps, consumer behavior databases, brand & product assessments, and other available research tools. Be able to communicate results of these analyses to the broader organization.
- Support and collaborate with Digital Marketing team toward development of digital tools and content that support regional marketing initiatives. Help deploy special digital assets to sales & segment internal teams, and specific customers as appropriate.
- Develop close working relationships with business and product managers to ensure business plans are effectively delivered.
Qualification (Education, Experience and Competencies)
- 5-7 years marketing, sales, or commercial/product management experience. Ideally B2C FMCG industry experience is an advantage.
- Exposure to strategy development and implementing marketing campaigns.
- Ability to grasp complex technical and business issues and articulate them simply.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with communicating at all levels of an organization and challenging established practices.
- Capability to work with databases to query for market information, and conduct analysis and synthesis of the data in support of market understanding projects.
- Ability to work independently and take the lead.
- Demonstrable thought leadership and team-building experience.
- Customer Management and value selling experience an advantage.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%) domestically and internationally
