How You’ll Make an Impact

You shall be a part of the mechanical maintenance team managing entire breadth of equipment maintenance work. It would include equipment installations, routine maintenance tasks, development of gadgets, preparation of spare part list, equipment repairs, and maintaining data. You would also be supporting in developing safe maintenance procedures, rout cause analysis of damaged equipment spares.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

•    Installation and assembling of new machines and equipment.
•    Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
•    Support during emergency/unscheduled repairs by completing them in a timely manner.
•    Diagnosing and repairing machine failures.
•    Installing replacement parts (which he often fabricates himself using machine shop tools) or prepare from old, removed spares.
•    Using power tools and different hand tools to execute assigned maintenance tasks.
•    Following LZAI’s  best practices, SOPs, Loto procedures, and other safety guidelines
•    Knowledge of SAP, generating maintenance SAP work orders against the Maintenance SAP notification and entering the required data like date and time of job completion, entering the reasons of equipment failure in to the work orders and closing the Work order after completion of maintenance job.
•    Logging performed maintenance work (be that via paper documentation, excel spread sheets or ERP) system.
•    Identification and preparation of spare part list of new equipment and for existing equipment for which spare part details are not available. Critical spare part list.
•    Preparation of equipment assembly drawing by capturing actual dimensions.
•    Maintain and practice five S in maintenance workshop.
•    Follow guidelines of QMS/EMS, OSHAS and EnMS related to maintenance section.
•    Well conversant in working within team of different segments and grades. 
•    Comprehend and follow oral instructions given by maintenance officer.
•    Grasp technical drawings and other visual instructions.
•    Inspect equipment.
•    Maintain records.
•    Mechanical tools, equipment, and system maintenance.
•    Repair machines and equipment.
•    To prepare technical documents and specifications.
•    Troubleshooting with self-experience.
•    Read equipment manuals assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment.
•    Record and monitor maintenance systems logs, activity logs and team effectiveness.
•    Complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
•    See that preventative maintenance program is followed and inform about deviation.
•    Develop innovative ideas and implement to reduce breakdown, down time, and enhance safety.
•    Train and develop contractual staff to perform job during maintenance activity.
•    Performing laser alignment for critical equipment, condition monitoring through vibration analysis and developing reports.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

•    ITI FITTER Trade.
•    Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical maintenance department of chemical manufacturing unit.
•    Experience of computerized maintenance system and maintaining data in electronic form.
•    Problem solving skills to identify machine breakdown Root causes, and solution corrective prevention solution.
•    Technical skills and knowledge like limits & fits, allowable clearances, type of fastener threads, machining, and threading and how to use precision measurement tools.
•    Hands on experience of equipment like,
o    Positive displacement (Internal/External gear pumps) and centrifugal pump maintenance and troubleshooting.
o    Pump and agitator mechanical seal overhauling and installation.
o    Gearbox installation, maintenance, and inspection.
o    Bearing installation and lubrication.
o    Machining of items, thread cutting, taper machining etc.
o    Limits & fit tolerance of couplings used for power transmission.
o    Equipment modification (machine guarding, fabricated foundation, conversion of bush bearing to anti frication bearing etc.)
•    Basic computer knowledge and converse with excel and other applications for maintaining data in electronic form.
•    Safety knowledge about handling Power tools and machines.
•    Building relationships: The job requires interaction with user departments and becomes one of the key requirements to develop and maintains communication with people in different functions.
•    Hands on experience on Vibration analysis for condition monitoring and laser alignment of equipment.
•    Safety knowledge should be there while carrying out work at height, working in confined space and Hot work.
