Instrument Mechanic (Chemical Plant)

Summary of the Role:

Apprentices will observe, learn, and assist in basic tasks related to installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems in a chemical plant. The role focuses on skill development under close supervision, ensuring exposure to safe practices and foundational technical knowledge.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Assist in basic installation and calibration activities for instruments like pressure gauges, flow meters, and control valves under supervision.
• Observe inspection and troubleshooting activities; assist only in simple tasks as directed.
• Support preventive maintenance and shutdown activities by performing basic tasks under guidance.
• Learn documentation practices for calibration and maintenance; assist in record-keeping.
• Interact with engineers and technicians to understand upgrade processes; assist in minor tasks.
• Observe testing and commissioning activities; assist only as instructed.

Requirements(education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

Basic understanding of instrumentation principles, sensors, and control systems.

Familiarity with calibration concepts and preventive maintenance.

Last two years have passed out.

Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols in an industrial environment.
