ROLE Summary:
A Factory Medical Officer must deliver health and first-aid provisions for all employees at the factory. Factory Medical officers are senior physicians who must manage all aspects related to employee health, wellness, and care. They oversee daily operations, administration, serve as clinical advisors, and investigate any problems that may arise. A FMO should create a healthy and safe work environment by detecting occupational health and safety hazards and developing practical approaches to eliminate or control those hazards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Day to Day Management of the Occupational Health Centre (OHC) at Turbhe office.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards and maintain the required records
- Address medical problems of the workers as well as any industrial health related problems – for all employees and contractors of Lubrizol South Asia
- Conduct Pre-employment health evaluations for all new hires (including contract persons) and Annual Health Checkups of existing employees. Also conduct abnormality follow ups for all health deviations detected and monitor them at regular intervals.
- Handle First Aid & Emergency Care arising out of accidents, sickness, or any other pandemic.
- Pandemic planning and related activities to be carried out.
- Liaison with Hospitals, DISH (Directorate of Industrial safety Health Authorities), Other Vendors (that include waste management, supply, GMC) and Corporates
- Train employees on Basic Healthcare, First Aid, fitness regime and other relevant topics. Run fitness programmes and conduct period health camp with specialists, across the organization as required.
- Monitor First-aid box medicines are in place and not expired, if medicine expired than replace medicine.
- Provide emergency care to the employees in case of workplace related injuries, illness, and exposure. Perform administrative duties and risk management.
- Engage with Group Medical Insurance vendor partner and ensure quick turnaround of medical claims of employees and their family members. Maintain all database and records with respect to GMC. Act as Super TPA where you need preauthorize all requests and claims.
- Ensure consistent and accurate medical recordkeeping practices. Maintain all medical health records at the OHC.
- Ensure vaccinations for all employees of Lubrizol South Asia as and when required.
- Hiring, supervising, and mentoring healthcare professionals.
- Managing allocated budgets and identifying areas of improvement in inpatient care. Manage Medical reimbursment bills its processing for Non-officers.
- Ensure that all related equipment and supplies are suitably maintained at all times at the OHC
- Keeping informed on advancements in the field and contributing to medical research programs.
- Reporting to senior management, as well as liaising between administrative and medical staff.
- Provide Sickness Authorization to employees and contractors before they resume office after any medical condition.
