ROLE SUMMARY: 

  • Ensure effective operation and maintenance of utilities and support services with best industrial practices / standards, industrial benchmarks, regulatory compliance at optimal cost. 
  • Ensure safe operation of the facility in compliance with regulatory and company standards of care. 

Internal contacts: 

  • Communication: - Operations (Production, Maintenance, Projects), Procurement, Finance, Site leadership team. 

External contacts: 

  • Engineering consultants- Energy consultant, Third party Inspection Agencies. 
  • Service providers: - Mechanical Equipment fabricators, Electrical & instrumentations, Civil- Domain specialty chemical. 
  • Statutory Govt. organization- Directorate of Steam Boilers, Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Chief Controller of Explosive, Utility Supplying Companies. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage operation of utilities section for reliable supply of utilities to all production units to achieve organization goal. 
  • Plan &implement PM program for safe and reliable operation of equipment. 
  • Participate in periodic energy audits at site and implementation of identified energy saving opportunities. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of utility & maintenance section. 
  • Evaluate external contractors (AMC contract) to minimize costs and ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. 
  • ISO Documentation: Assist Utilities in charge in ISO related documentation & audits to ensure compliance to management systems with minimal disruptions to day-to-day business operations. 
  • Assist Utilities in charge to ensure compliance of all statutory requirements. 

 

REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies, and specific job requirements): 
Education & Experience 

  • Graduate Mechanical Engineer having boiler proficiency certificate with around 5 years of handling operation and maintenance of complex utilities in chemical plants. 
  • Candidate should have good exposure to utility equipment’s like steam boilers/air compressors/Nitrogen Generation/ Cooling tower/HVAC system operation and maintenance of specialty chemical industries 
  • Preferable: BEE Certified Energy Manager/Auditor. 

 

Skills: 

  • Ability to work in cross functional teams. 
  • Good oral and written English skill.
  • Adept in using Microsoft office: Word, Power point & Excel.
