Apprentice-Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant)

Summary of the Role:

The Apprenticeship Trainee will assist in routine laboratory activities under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in chemical testing, sample preparation, and quality control processes. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to laboratory operations in a chemical plant environment.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

• Assist in collecting and preparing samples of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Perform basic chemical and physical tests under guidance (e.g., pH, density, moisture).
• Support calibration and cleaning of laboratory instruments.
• Maintain proper documentation of test results and observations.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure proper handling of chemicals.
• Learn and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist in inventory management of laboratory consumables.

Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and chemical safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.

Education / Certification:

• B. Sc. Chemistry, or related field.
• Fresher eligible
