Summary of the Role:

 

As part of the Logistics Operations team, the Transportation Specialist will be accountable for the coordination of the daily transport planning workload, advises and supports Transport Associates to solve transport issues and acts as a liaison between internal & external customers. This function will work closely together with the Logistics Operations Manager and will support to analyze data & KPI’s in function of the assigned projects and Carrier Performance reviews.


Key Responsibilities

• Process & Workload Coordination: Establish processes and procedures to manage and balance the workload of assigned Transport Associates.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient and timely deliveries to final destinations.
• Issue Resolution & Prioritization: Assess challenges, manage priorities, and negotiate solutions with various stakeholders to maintain smooth operations.
• Training & Support: Provide Transport Associates with necessary training and guidance to enhance their ability to process and monitor orders effectively.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and manage key logistics performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, on-time delivery, customer complaints, carrier service quality, and booking acceptance for assigned carriers and destinations.
• Carrier Service & Issue Management: Lead service performance reviews and resolve issues related to assigned carriers and destinations.
• Financial Compensation Oversight: Manage financial claims related to carrier non-conformity or service failures.
• Carrier Performance Reviews: Conduct monthly/quarterly carrier performance evaluations.
• Team Backup & Support: Ensure continuity of transportation operations by providing backup support to the team and maintaining professional order handling.
• Compliance & Safety: Uphold and promote compliance with company Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and best practices.

 

 Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

  • Education & Certification
    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree required

• Certification or Degree in relation to Supply Chain is plus. 

 

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of Transportation experience.
  • Prior experience managing carriers.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through is essential.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and professionalism. This position will interface with logistics team members and internal customers and business partners on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP and MS office tools.
  • Enthusiastic, diplomatic and possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
