Summary of the Role:
•The incumbent is to lead civil engineering and facility maintenance activities. The candidate will have responsibilities in project department as well as in maintenance department. He must demonstrate high standard of safety while execution of projects and maintenance. He must have very good experience in executing civil projects, civil maintenance and facility maintenance. He must have demonstrated good leadership skills. He must have demonstrated good control over various contractors like civil contractors, facility maintenance contractors (Painting, carpentry etc.),
•The incumbent is to direct all civil engineering and facility maintenance related contractors. He will be participating in companies’ asset structural audits and initiating and complete restoration and strengthening of company’s civil structures. He will be responsible and accountable for civil and facility maintenance activities in LZA LIPL’s Turbhe facility and Taloja Facility.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Manage and execute maintenance and project activities related to Civil & structural jobs in a large-scale specialty chemical plant, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery.
- Initiate, plan, monitor, and close projects, including SAP/CORA documentation and handover to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure safety compliance, statutory adherence, structural audits, and maintenance of civil structures at Turbhe and Taloja sites.
- Oversee painting, plumbing, drainage systems (industrial, sewage, stormwater), and MIDC-related civil approvals.
- Prepare civil CAPEX/OPEX budgets under the guidance of Sr. Manager – Projects.
- Manage contractors, annual rate contracts, and contract certification (work measurements, invoices).
- Coordinate with procurement, safety, administration, production, finance, and engineering stores.
- Utilize MS Project, SAP, and other project management tools; prepare presentations as required.
- Support project managers in MOC jobs, capital projects, and technical evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, JSAs, QMS/EMS/OHSMS, and other compliance requirements.
- Lead maintenance planning, troubleshooting, improvements, and reliability initiatives for all civil infrastructure.
- Conduct inspections of equipment, spares, and support development of technical standards.
- Liaise with MIDC, DISH, NMMC, and external consultants for statutory approvals and GFC drawings.
- Maintain boundary walls, facilities infrastructure, and coordinate with Environment Manager for pollution control compliance.
Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
Education / Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from reputed institute.
Experience and Skills:
• Minimum 10-12 years in civil engineering within chemical process industry.
• Strong experience in project management & civil/facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of BMPs, NBC, MIDC rules, painting standards, labor laws, fire norms.
• Skills in quantity surveying, BOQ, contract management, 5S.
• Proficiency in SAP, MS Project, and strong presentation skills
