Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for battery materials, providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and external customers.
  • Develop, plan and execute on technical application projects to demonstrate value of Lubrizol polymers and additives in battery applications.
  • Support customer meetings by making product presentations, collecting voice of customer and providing technical support.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of battery manufacturing processes, including line survey experience for secure launch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to develop and implement technical programs and solutions for clients.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and assessments of battery materials and manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the battery sector.
  • Participate in technical conferences, seminars, and workshops to represent Lubrizol, enhance knowledge and network with industry experts.
  • Work closely with cross-cultural, cross-regional teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration on technical projects.
  • Support the development and implementation of training programs for internal teams and clients.
  • Travel requirement ~ 30% of the time.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with battery materials and a solid understanding of the lithium-ion battery material.
  • Deep knowledge of polymeric binders and materials in batteries considered a plus.
  • Experience working in a lab setting with hands-on formulation development, and battery cell fabrication.
  • Experience in following safe laboratory practices to local and company standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while delivering high-quality results in a faced-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other Asian languages is a plus.
