How You’ll Make an Impact

As Sr. Chemist ,you'll be at the forefront of our innovation,  invention, design, synthesis and evaluation of new, high performance specialty molecules and technical support of regional needs of Lubrizol’s current Small Molecule product portfolio. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:

• Invent, design, characterize and develop new chemical products and processes to be used across several Lubrizol end markets like refrigerant fluids (LFE), polyol intermediates (LEM), and automotive lubricants (LZA)
• Refine existing products and processes for better quality or efficiency
• Conduct hands-on laboratory work
• Develop structure-performance relationships
• Perform independent research in a multidisciplinary environment
• Utilize technical knowledge, data, statistical tools, AI, etc. to solve technical challenges
• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Interpret and communicate results to colleagues, sponsors, and customers
• Document experimental results and prepare technical reports and presentations
• Collaborate with global Corporate Technology groups in US and UK
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and good housekeeping practices

Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success

• Doctoral degree in organic chemistry
• Experience in laboratory synthesis of organic compounds
• Track record of innovative thinking and technical accomplishments
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities, with fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese
• Graduate, Post-Doctoral or Industrial experience in synthesis considered a plus
• Project management and budget management expertise is considered a plus
