ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

The purpose of this role is to lead technical service and application development activities in GTC and South-East Asia. He or She should lead TS&AD team to provide sufficient technical supporting to Estane customers in GTC and Southeast Asia with business needs, scouting the emerging opportunities with new business development team, identify the application and set up the application development plan and platforms to fulfil the application development projects; be responsible for TS&AD team capacities enhancement and people development.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and prioritize the technical service request and allocate the resources for customers, ensure the sufficient technical supporting to customers in GTC and southeast Asia.
  • Create understanding of a range of relevant applications, Thermoplastics TPU processing/converting technologies. generate technical value propositions and create commercial opportunities together with NBD team.
  • Define the planning and prioritization of projects and manage the execution of the plan in line with Estane’s project guidelines, ensure that project objectives, deliverables, and milestones are met, within the agreed budget, timing and quality standards.
  • Proactively communicate with different stakeholders on project progress and timely address potential gaps and barriers
  • Translate application requirements into product specifications of existing products or new direction for product development.
  • Identify potential applications and marketing opportunities, build the application development platforms with focus and propose the capabilities setup.
  • Position Estane products in the market by supporting branding & promotion campaigns.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive products and technologies in related fields
  • Contribute to implement technology development strategy with application development, ensure the IP strategy to align with business need.
  • Provide scientific and technical support to manufacturing / operations: technology transfer, scale-up, troubleshooting.
  • People development by providing timely feedback & appraisal, Provide leadership in mentoring TS&AD engineers.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

 

Education Background:

  • Master and above degree in Polymers, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related subjects
  • 10+ years of polymer application & product development working experience with at least 5 years’ experience of people manager.

 

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of polymer structure-processing-property relationship, hands-on experience in product & compounding formulation development
  • Strong analytical and problem anticipation & solving skills; innovative, ability to think outside the box and generate creative approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication, presentation, and listening skills; ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences (internal & external)
  • highly motivated towards goals & objectives
  • Excellent organization and planning skills; multitasking
  • Fluency in oral and written English
