Summary of the Role:

As OT Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be part of a team of IT professionals, engineers and other support professionals that will define and drive operational excellence and cybersecurity standards and practices governing installation and operation of Operational Technology (OT) throughout Lubrizol’s global manufacturing, lab, testing, and R&D facilities.  


Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

  • Design, implement, and support cybersecurity components of site automation systems including activities such as patching, antivirus, back-ups/restore, and OT security tools. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed inventories of control system technologies (hardware and software assets) and ensure such assets are deployed and maintained in accordance with corporate standards and policies to reduce cybersecurity risk.
  • Perform and manage data collection from various sites and consolidate data in single repository for analysis, reporting and dashboards.
  • Interface with local facility Automation Managers, Process Control Engineers, Operations and Maintenance personnel with a focus on providing support and building trusted long-term relationships.
  • Ensure technology service providers and other third parties are delivering services and work product in accordance with Lubrizol’s operating ICS and cybersecurity standards.
  • Participate in the development of policies, standards, and practices, and conduct periodic assessments of compliance.
  • Assist in security monitoring and response efforts as needed.
  • Assist in training and internal Lubrizol ICS community building efforts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT and business units on security initiatives.
  • Ensure internal and third party resources are aware are implementing projects and delivering work products and services in accordance with Lubrizol’s standards.

 

Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

  • 4-7 years of IT experience with minimum 3 years’ experience in IT/OT environments, with knowledge of industrial control systems and related hardware and software components (networking, servers, workstations, etc)
  • Working knowledge of common cybersecurity frameworks.
  • A strong understanding of both IT and OT technical architectures and the operational differences between the two platforms.
  • Working knowledge of OT cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, exploits and remediation actions and practices necessary to secure a broad range of technologies.  
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize projects, solve problems requiring meticulous attention to detail, multitask, and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.


Education / Certification: 

  • A four-year degree in process control engineering, computer science, information services, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.   
  • Technical certifications such as CISSP or SANs in relevant technical domains. 

 

Experience and Skills:  

Experience with DCS and PLC platforms such as (Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, other, etc.) is preferred but not required. 

Understanding of ICS/OT fundamentals, including but not limited to:

  • Understanding of distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), safety instrumented systems (SIS) and other technologies used in controlling manufacturing processes. 
  • Understanding of network and communication protocols common in ICS environments.
  • Understanding of ICS design considerations with emphasis on human safety, equipment safety and the availability/security of operating environment.
