Summary of the Role:

 

Lead Green Field / Brown field project execution in functions of Mechanical & chemical during engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning phases of project ensuring successful delivery of project and successful product trials while adherence to project schedule and cost with adherence to project key deliverables.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

 

  • Provide strong and decisive project leadership throughout project life cycle till product validation/commercial trials.
  • Play Key role in technology transfer/basic and detail engineering development from technology supplier. Be able to manage all disciplines within project organization.
  • Review & approve inputs for P&ID finalization, safety interlocks, process logic developments & Pre-Startup-Safety-Review (PSSRI) studies.
  • Participate in risk reviews, Hazop, 3D modelling and provide inputs to avoid rework & ensure first time right construction.   
  • Monitoring & tracking project progress ensuring time, cost, quality, safety aspects.
  • Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely project reporting to project and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with lead project engineers for effective engagement/execution of work from contractors/sub-contractors.
  • Ensure that organizational & statutory HSES requirements are met during project design & execution.  
  • Be responsible for technical evaluation during procurement activities.
  • Work/Coordinate with support & cross functional departments for project requirements.
  • Be responsible in finalization of site contractors, establishment of best site construction activities & execution methodologies during construction.
  • Lead and guide/support team to work with site team/contractors/suppliers/equipment vendors during pre-commissioning trials.
  • Be responsible for plant pre-commissioning and commissioning as per process & technology design including process guarantees from suppliers.
  • Be responsible for product validation & commercial production out of plant.
  • Complete project documentation and project handover as per agreed terms.
  • The role can involve some amount of travelling that includes-  Filed visits, inspection, vendor/service provider  qualification etc

 

         Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

 

Education / Certification:

 

University Graduate in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering, additional course in process equipment design will be added advantage.   

 

Experience and Skills:  

 

  1. 12 - 14 years’ experience in Project execution as Mechanical & / chemical project activities out of which candidate should have shouldered section lead responsibilities for at least 3-5 years.
  2. Well conversant with industry best practices for project engineering, execution including safety, quality during project delivery. On site field execution experience is must.
  3. Knowledge of applicable International and National codes, Standards & legal requirements.
  4. Experience on manpower and team management of site contractors and consultant good communication and networking skills.
  5. Previous experience of successfully managing project execution in a MNC having multi culture/diverse global environment.

 

Desirable Skills: Exposure to 3 D modeling, AutoCad, Emerson Delta V, Siemens DCS, SIL certification, HAZOP, troubleshooting experience, P&ID, Panel drawings. Interlock, and logic development.
