Summary of the Role:

The Global Logistics Specialist for Freight Pricing and Logistics Digitization will lead the definition, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of all processes and technology in her/his functional area across regions and business units for LZ globally. This role will be a visible, leading and supporting partner for the Logistics Operations & Procurement and Supply Chain end user community, ensuring alignment with strategic direction.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

Processes: 

  • As owner, responsible for defining all processes in her/his area of responsibility, i.e. policy/process description, including: purpose, scope, deliverables, performance measurement, RASCI. 
  • Liaise with internal and external partners (research and advisory companies, Berkshire affiliates) to ensure best-in-class process design and implementation.

Technology: 

  • Drive maximum adoption of SAP (S4 and ECC) and 3PL technologies. Where needed, work with IT to scout the market for new technology and applications supporting the assigned processes, approve
  • functional specifications, support IT with selection and implementation. 
  • Alternatively work with LZ/COE internal resources to build technology/tools in house. Standardizing technology, tools and reports for Logistics across all LZ GBU’s.

Governance:

  • Stakeholder Management: actively engage in conversations with key stakeholders to align direction and priorities in the are of freight pricing and logistics digitization.
  • Support the Manager, Global Logistic COE with development of the strategic roadmap
  • KPI’s & Metrics: define process related functional KPI’s and metrics. Work with the Global Process Owner Metrics & Reporting to drive process and performance improvement through data analytics and reporting.

Operational Excellence:

  • Measure and Drive Process Adoption: lead execution of a process related internal audit program.  Update processes, policies and training material based on audit findings and changes in strategy.
  • Continuous Improvement: keep processes and policies up-to-date, lead improvement initiatives in execution of processes within the Logistics end user community.

Training: 

  • Determine training needs, write and update process/policy related training material.
  • Organize external training where applicable. Deliver training to Subject Matter Experts.


Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or other relevant degree with proven ability to develop logical data analysis to drive process improvements
  • Minimum 5+ years experience within Logistics or Supply Chain related experience as solid foundation
  • SAP S4/ECC proficiency, including SAP TM
  • Process oriented with a passion for excellence; demonstrated willingness to challenge status quo and drive continuous improvement
  • A team player able to organize, prioritize, and multi-task, adhering to and meeting deadlines
  • Promote Lubrizol’s Cultural beliefs
  • Demonstrate balanced approach to business, operations, cost and service
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to travel up to 15% of time, domestic and interregional


Considered a Plus:

  • Advanced degree (MBA) or industry certifications (ex. CLTD or other relevant APICS modules) in the area of Logistics or Supply Chain.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PBI
  • Additional language skills: Spanish, Mandarin, other
