        ACCOUNTABILITY:

Accountable for delivering the technology aspects of the transportation business strategy including product development, OEM and industry advocacy and associated projects.

 

 

        RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop new product or adapt existing global platform with winning value propositions for the China market.
  • Uncover future hardware and industry changes related to the powertrain applications and identify technology development opportunities based on that.
  • Build deep and trusting relationships with major Chinese OEMs and customers.
  • Advocate Lubrizol technology positions at OEMs, major customers, and industry meetings to achieve commercial success.
  • Be recognized as the subject matter expert for powertrain technology and provides technical consulting to commercial, sales and customer.
  • Represent the technical voice of the region and identifies technology gaps and propose solutions.
  • Creates and delivers effective communications and presentations internally and externally in support of achieving business objectives.
  • Attend and participate in relevant regional Product Management Group-Sales-OEM Group meetings.

 

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

  • Education Background:
    • Chemistry or chemical engineer or similar, PhD (preferred), minimum master’s degree.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Be craving for new product creation.
    • Chemical product formulation skills. Capable of developing formulation starting from scratch.  
    • Strong analytical capability and solid experience in DOE.
    • Ability to build and sustain relationships with internal teams and external customers.
    • Project management: strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
    • Self-driven. Ability to work under minimum supervision.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Chinese.
    • Ability to travel (30%).
  • Other Experiences Preferred:
    • >5 years lubricant/additive or related (oil co or chemical supplier).
    • Exposure to/understanding of automotive hardware and relevant chemical /physical analytical tools.
    • Knowledge in tribology/rheology/statistics.
