ACCOUNTABILITY:

This role is responsible for identifying, assessing and executing local chemistry solutions, understanding future transportation technology needs, and translating market and customer requirements into strategic projects to support the growth of Lubrizol Additives business in China and beyond. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with global and local cross-functional teams to manage components effectively;
• Work with Component Management Technology Managers and leadership to develop and support global Component Strategies;
• Implement local Management of Change (MOC) programs as required by the business
• Conduct competitive analysis projects to gain insights into the competitive landscape for components;
• Explore external resources to support regional development projects;
• Stay updated on future hardware and industry changes in transportation and alternative energy applications and identify technology development opportunities;
• Analyze technology gaps, propose technical approaches and product options, and develop the necessary knowledge and capabilities to succeed in targeted areas;
• Advocate Lubrizol technology positions at OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, major customers, and industry meetings to achieve commercial success;
• Understand and develop Lubrizol’s “sustainability” technical position in China.

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

• Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineer or related field, a PhD is preferred;
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Proficient with chemical formulation;
• Exposure to/understanding of transportation hardware and relevant analytical tools;
• Proven experience in transportation related chemical industry would be an advantage;
  • Open-minded and quick learner in the technical field;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners;
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects and delivering results;
  • Strong listening and influencing skills;
  • Availability to travel as needed.
