How You’ll Make an Impact

As Shanghai Beauty Research Institute Technical Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, leading the Shanghai Beauty Research Institute (BRI) within Lubrizol Life Science (LLS) Technical organization, acting as the technical regional focal point for Beauty Active Ingredients growth: promotes portfolio, partners in pipeline development, executes on customized projects, ensuring full alignment with the global active Ingredients team fostering consistency in scientific standards, evaluation criteria, and operational excellence across regions and executing all activities in strict compliance with BRI protocols and Claim Substantiation Department study practices, ensuring robustness, reproducibility, and scientific credibility of generated data.

You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:

• Ensure the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment System according to the company procedure. Performs all safety inspections and adheres to safety standards.
• Provide leadership to SH BRI scientists, to ensure the fulfilment of the project requests to execute on time, quality, and cost according to business priorities, product launch timelines, and regional customized project needs.
• Collaborate with the Global Claim Substantiation Manager to fully align with global BRI practices and in vitro testing for Active Ingredients in regional customized projects.
• Drive regional Beauty Active Ingredients business growth through technical leadership, translating portfolio capabilities into customer relevant value propositions and prioritizing technical initiatives aligned with regional business needs.
• Own the execution and prioritization of regional technical initiatives, ensuring portfolio push, effective delivery of customized projects, and contribution to defined growth objectives.
• Support customer lab tours and scientific capability presentations to NDA customers, reinforcing Lubrizol’s scientific credibility and consistency of technical messaging.
• Support to prepare, implement and evaluate annual capital budgets.
• Trainings - Ensures that employee competencies are maintained annually. Cultural beliefs.
• Handles and coordinates the resolution of complex issues. Addresses systems issues; troubleshoots problems and/or arranges for technical service.
• Participate in customer meetings if necessary to create adequate alignment with customized projects.  

Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success

• PhD in Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology.
• Experience in in vitro and in vivo testing of minimum 5 years. Strong knowledge in skin biology and biology techniques and strong project management capability.
• Good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
• Other skills: well-organized person, proactive, able to assume responsibilities and with good tolerance to change.
• Advanced English level.
• Expected travel approximately 20%.
