Senior Director, APAC Technology

Accountability:

The technology leader for the Asia Pacific region will have accountability for creating and driving the technology strategy and vision for the region, including indirect accountability for regional technology teams.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing the technology strategy and vision for the APAC region.
• Ensuing the development of new products and services to meet the needs of the market are being met and aligned with BU and R&D etc.
• Implementation of key technology processes and tools – intake, stage gate etc.
• Driving collaboration and technology exchange opportunities – including technical symposia, tech talks etc.
• Building and developing a high-performing team of regional leaders and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Creating a regional technology leadership team to align and drive best practices.
• Working closely with other leaders across the organization to ensure alignment with the overall business strategy.
• Developing a deep understanding of the Asia Pacific market, including customer needs, trends, and competitive landscape.
• Communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the region and globally.
• Partnering with commercial stakeholders to establish and prioritize technology development objectives consistent with the business strategy.
• Leading the development of new global technology platforms and significant new products within their product line scope.
• Being accountable for operationalizing the strategies established by leaders and setting the short-term tactical plans for the region, which includes planning resource allocation and making decisions about priorities.
• Developing and maintaining close senior level relationships with key customers, OEMs, suppliers, and government leaders.
• Developing and executing a regional technology footprint plan – including labs, capabilities.
• Building regional technology capability and leadership, and enhancing regional execution, collaboration, and talent development.

Requirements - Education, Experience, Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer science or related scientific field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in technology leadership roles within the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of technology trends within the chemical industry, including process automation, data analytics, and digital transformation.
• Experience in driving technology initiatives and managing large-scale projects specific to the chemical industry.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the chemical company.
• Strategic mindset and the ability to align technology initiatives with the unique business objectives of Lubrizol.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to technology in the chemical industry.
• Experience in managing budgets, resources, and timelines within the context of a chemical company.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within the chemical industry.
