PURPOSE:
As Business Development Manager, you are responsible for growth of the Industrial segment in line with regional and global goals by identifying and assessing new innovation opportunities that are significant, valuable and defendable. You will be accountable for assessing market opportunities, develop and implement marketing strategies and marketing plans, lead growth initiatives that would position Lubrizol for sustainable profitable growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop in-depth market knowledge with the goal to understand market size, trends, potential, profits, requirements, key players, and opportunities, resulting in a regional and/or global strategy for that market.
- Create value through market intimacy and innovation by understanding global and regional market trends, customer unmet needs, assess market potential, identify and develop target sub-segments through value and opportunity analysis, and define marketing strategy.
- Identify any gaps in existing capabilities and develop action plans to address those gaps.
- Identify and lead innovation and growth opportunities that align with segment strategy and will result in sustained profitable growth.
- Propose, develop and implement marketing plans to achieve the marketing strategy and business objectives.
- Identify, generate and capture more value from both new and existing solutions.
- Define and refine key strategic customers/OEMs and establish strong collaborative relationships.
- Use market expertise to help direct sales efforts as it relates to new opportunities, pricing, and sales contracts.
- Establish product pricing guidelines, managing the price to ensure business sustainability.
- Launch new products, gain early market acceptance and accelerate penetration.
- Deliver yearly new business results for the focused market segments with required revenue & profit for project-new-initiations and project-wins, which is also aligned with segments’ portfolio strategy.
- Work within global marketing organization, to develop regional OEM strategies and maintain business relationship.
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Chemistry, polymer science, engineering or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial experience on Specialty Chemical Business, in MNC is a plus.
- Proven track record of success at developing and implementing effective business development strategies, consumer electronics, conductive polymer, static control, hose & tube, semi-conductor and battery related market application experience are preferred but not limited.
- Successfully demonstrated B2B market development & market research/analysis capability.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and business team environment.
- Mandarin and excellent English skills.
- Willing to travel min 50%.
