How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Receiving Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting plant operations by managing inventory, receiving, and shipping activities in alignment with Lubrizol’s quality, safety, and compliance standards. You will collaborate with plant personnel, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure materials are available, accurately tracked, and safely handled—helping maintain efficient, reliable manufacturing operations. In this role, you will:

  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment by adhering to Lubrizol safety policies and participating in scheduled safety meetings.
  • Perform storeroom and receiving operations, including checking, ordering, and managing inventory (e.g., industrial gases, sample jars/lids).
  • Process hazardous sample shipments in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
  • Operate forklifts and provide general support for daily storeroom activities.
  • Assist plant personnel with order placement, SAP usage, and catalog navigation.
  • Coordinate inventory reservations for repair or purchase needs.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new team members as directed.
  • Verify and correct inventory count daily and conduct periodic inventory audits.
  • Transfer stock items between Lubrizol facilities as required.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards within the storeroom.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Review and expedite change/release requisitions and overdue orders.
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming equipment, supplies, and service orders; report discrepancies as needed.
  • Enter receiving data into SAP and maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Tag assets and properly store received materials.
  • Issue and deliver items to plant personnel as requested.
  • Prepare shipping documentation (FedEx/UPS) for outbound materials.
  • Edit delivery dates and quantities as operational needs change.
  • Complete special assignments and participate in quality and continuous improvement teams.

 

Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or storeroom operations—preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with SAP or similar inventory/order management systems.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. as required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

 

Preferred Qualifications That Drive You Forward

  • Additional technical or vocational training.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping regulations.
  • Prior experience in a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing facility.
