How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Mechanical & Piping Discipline Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, serving as the mechanical and piping technical authority for projects and site changes within a chemical manufacturing environment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant solutions that support operational excellence across the asset lifecycle.
In this role, you will:

Lead and/or direct mechanical and piping design activities, developing comprehensive statements of work and ensuring integration across static equipment, rotating equipment, piping, structural systems, and original equipment manufacturer packaged systems.

Apply Process Safety Management requirements including Management of Change, Hazard and Operability Studies or Layers of Protection Analysis, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews throughout design and execution.

Define, witness, and approve critical quality assurance activities and performance verifications in both factory and field settings.

Own mechanical completion checklists and verify installed assets meet design intent and are safe to start up.

Serve as the accountable owner for site mechanical technical documentation including piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment datasheets, and relief device documentation.

Interpret and apply company and industry codes and standards to resolve technical conflicts and embed constructability, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost considerations into designs.

Influence project outcomes through sound technical judgment, risk-based decision making, and continuous improvement of mechanical standards.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

A minimum of seven years of experience in mechanical and piping design and engineering for process or chemical manufacturing facilities.

Strong command of American Society of Mechanical Engineers piping and pressure vessel codes including B31.3 and Section VIII, and relevant American Petroleum Institute standards.

Demonstrated experience reviewing, accepting, and owning technical engineering deliverables from design through commissioning.

Working knowledge of Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity requirements including Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.

Experience governing document control workflows and maintaining accurate mechanical and piping documentation with internal and external engineering partners.

Proficiency with two-dimensional and three-dimensional computer-aided design tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Plant 3D.

Strong field presence with the ability to translate design intent into safe, constructible, and maintainable installations.

Ability and willingness to work off-hours and weekends as needed to support operations.

Ability and willingness to work in a plant environment and occasionally outdoors in inclement weather.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward

Professional Engineer license.

Reliability or Mechanical Integrity exposure including inspection standards, fitness-for-service, risk-based inspection, or condition monitoring.

Capital project lifecycle experience from front-end loading through start-up and stage-gate processes.
