What You'll Do:

Lubrizol is currently looking for a Finance Operations Analyst to join our Finance organization. This position is located at Lubrizol’s manufacturing facility in Painesville, Ohio and focuses on providing information, processes and solutions that enable plant operations to achieve their goals and initiatives. A typical day may include developing and implementing solutions to daily reporting and accounting issues, both in regards to general accounting and inventory/cost accounting. Candidates who are self-directed, enjoy working in and around a manufacturing environment and are able to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities will thrive in this role. This is an exciting position which will allow driven candidates to gain knowledge and experience for advancement to positions of greater responsibility throughout the company.

 

What We're Looking For: 

  • Review and analyze production variances and inventory adjustments on a monthly basis.
  • Non-working slow-moving analysis and recording.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, sharing analytical perspective as appropriate. 
  • Help lead externally audited physical inventories
  • Perform general accounting functions (recorded journal entries, account reviews/reconciliations/analysis and expense analysis).
  • Assist in the annual operating budget and forecast activities (depreciation and plant expenses).
  • Participate in off-site physical inventories.
  • Help lead the monthly inventory close process.
  • Proactively anticipate the needs of internal customers and stakeholders and build plant leadership capabilities by providing coaching and guidance on Lubrizol policies and procedures.   
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives which support our operations facilities.
  • Assist in the improvement of SAP reporting and new measurement criteria leading to improved decision processes and overall improvement of plant performance.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and analysis as requested.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Business required.
  • 6+ months of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills required.
  • Proficiency in SAP, SharePoint, or Power BI functions is a plus!
  • Previous plant, cost accounting, or operations finance experience is a plus!
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter mentality with the willingness to take initiative
  • Process improvement mindset
