What You Will Do:
As a Chemical Operator, you'll safely operate and maintain industrial equipment, process chemical products according to batch sheet instructions, and manage material transfers, including loading and unloading containers. You'll prepare equipment for maintenance, read control panels, track and record production data, and troubleshoot equipment and processes. Additionally, you'll participate in plant emergency response training, ensure general housekeeping, and adhere to safety procedures. The role requires flexibility to work 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays, as well as the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and maintain a clean-shaven appearance for respirator use.
What We’re Looking For:
- Receiving Operations: Remove, scan, label, and store drums, bag stock, and freight from trucks.
- Equipment Operation: Operate tow motors and pickers to manage inventory.
- Order Fulfillment: Use tow motor computers and scanners for order picking.
- Data Management: Perform data entry for inventory receipts.
- Staging and Loading: Occasionally stage drums for shipment and load containers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Learn and adhere to DOT/IMDG and DOT/ICAO hazardous material regulations as well as air shipping requirements.
- Order Preparation: Pick and prepare raw material orders for production use.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct safety inspections of equipment and areas, properly recording all findings.
- Maintenance Orders: Write and manage maintenance orders for equipment and area repairs.
- Facility Maintenance: Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, instruments, storage areas, walkways, and roadways to ensure safety compliance.
- Customer Service: Provide superior customer service consistently.
- Collaborative Work: Work with drivers, various departments (production, order handling, etc.), and troubleshoot inventory issues in SAP, resolving variances.
- Processing and sampling orders, creating documents for package shipments.
- Using SAP for label creation, checking delivery status, and inventory management.
- Determining routing and contacting carriers to facilitate shipments.
- Working with drivers to expedite unloading procedures.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
- Warehouse Management Proficiency: Understanding of warehouse management systems, bins, and barcode scanning.
- Equipment Operation: Strong tow motor skills, drum handling experience, and ability to safely operate various delivery vehicles including forklifts.
- Customer Service: Proven ability to deliver superior customer service.
- Safety Compliance: Ability to wear SCBA/Respirator, hear alarms, and follow safety procedures.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of SharePoint, basic math, reading/comprehension skills, and proficiency in Lubrizol’s computer systems.
- Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening), and attention to accuracy and detail.
- Adaptability and Teamwork: Self-motivated, flexible with schedule and work duties, and a team player willing to assist other departments as needed.
- Problem-Solving and Follow-Up: Ability to prioritize, multi-task, think quickly in dynamic environments, and follow up effectively to ensure successful outcomes.
Considered A Plus:
- Experience with SAP S4 HANA.
- Experience and knowledge with mechanical, process, instrumentation and electrical disciplines.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule is M-F 8hr days
- Will be subject to extended periods of climbing ladders and stairways, sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, moving and lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Must be willing/able to work in a warehouse environment and occasionally outdoors in inclement weather.
- Safely work independently and around others by following all required procedures.
- Willing to work up to 12 hour shifts, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Maintain clean shaven appearance to allow for respirator usage.
