What Will Be Your Environment:
The Painesville plant is one of Lubrizol’s larger facilities in the area, just outside of Cleveland, OH.
What You'll Do:
As Analytical Instrumentation Support you will support all quality Control Processes regarding Statistical Quality Control, instrument verification, validation, and Out of Specification from a QC perspective, including but not limited to all Standard Work Process, Management Systems, and analytical responsibilities.
What We're Looking For:
- Technical evaluation of QC Lab processes with respect to method and instrument validation and reliability.
- Review and analyze SQC data with a focus on instrument and technician performance and implement mitigating actions when appropriate.
- Primary person responsible for instrument manuals, calibration protocols and preventative maintenance plans.
- Provide recommendations to Lab Analysts to decrease analytical variation and enhance reliability.
- Participate in multifunctional project teams.
- Qualify new analytical techniques.
- Lead analytical test method implementation, verification, and validation.
- Champion new methods for improving QC Lab performance.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in chemistry and/or minimum 10 years of experience working with Lubrizol products and Analytical methods.
- Experience with Gas Chromatography, Inter-coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence.
- Experience in instrumentation troubleshooting.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proven team player.
- Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability and willingness to continually learn.
Considered a Plus:
- Familiarity with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
- Fundamental understanding of SAP is a plus.
- Experience with lubricant additive chemistry
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and handle objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- M-F, 8 hour shift, with willingness to support 24/7 operations.
- Ability to discern colors, read burettes, and have physical capability to operate instrumental analysis equipment.
- Expected to use appropriate PPE.
