Job Title   :  Sr. Manager Production

Reporting : Head Production

Location   : Turbhe (Mumbai)

Entity        : Lubrizol India Private Limited


Summary of the Role


As in core member of the production team, lead one of the intermediate units.

Produce and deliver quality products at targeted cost, quality and service level from Turbhe site.

Continuously improve the team and department capabilities. 

Lead a team of non-exempt employees.

Cultivate a culture and commitment to safety & excellence, while ensuring responsible

and disciplined operations within production team at Turbhe.


Internal contacts:

  • Communication: Maintenance, Laboratory, Projects, Admin, Occupational Health Centre, Security and Environment.
  • Interface: Procurement
  • Corporate - PTS team and other stake holders.

External contacts:

DISH, MPCB and surrounding community.



  • Lead manufacturing activities of individual unit at Turbhe site; Production planning and scheduling
  • Ensure smooth functioning of plant by supervising/coordinating, production and liaising with other support functions like Quality, Supply chain, EHS, Maintenance, HR and other Production units.
  • Lead Process Improvements/ debottlenecking efforts of his unit.
  • Ensuring optimum manufacturing efficiencies and productivity for the unit in coordination with other support functions.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of unit at all stages, ensure effective measures are in place for EHS, including effective Housekeeping.
  • Assist and encourage subordinates to acquire the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to be effective in their role.
  • Motivating & guiding, directing team members to improve their performance.
  • Support training, competency development and performance evaluation of the subordinates.
  • Ensure ISO 9001, 14001,45001 systems are in place (documentation, implementation, Audit and compliance)
  • Supporting Preventive Maintenance Program for equipment reliability
  • Identification and implementation of the measures for the plant, process, productivity improvement, including cost saving initiatives ensuing continuous improvements.
  • Supporting to Comply all the legal requirements related to plant operation


REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed college/ university & 10-12 years’ experience in Manufacturing. Proven track record as the unit-in-charge in a chemical complex.
  • Should have strong desire to take bigger and broader role within 2 – 3 years span

Experience and Skills 

  • 10-12 years of strong experience in production -operation domain.  Specifically, previous experience should be from batch industry of specialty chemical manufacturing organization involving hazardous chemicals and advanced Process automation
  • Candidates having exposure to MNC work culture will be added advantage.
  • Proven track record of leading a DCS operated chemical unit.
  • Exposure to strong safety culture, safety programs & work permit systems.
  • Experience of successfully managing plant operations in multi-shift environment.
  • Experience in de bottlenecking process units and managing small projects, functioning of utilities, and worked on some cost saving opportunities.
  • Adept in RCA, troubleshooting and having sound knowledge of DCS.
  • Strong operations management skills, and experience in production, planning and control.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence teams as a strong leader.
