Summary of the Role

This position serves as an escalation path for our solutions center. The Network operations analyst will spend time managing and monitoring our environment primarily through Service Now. They will manage all networking Solution Center Portal tickets which will include incidents, requests, changes, and problems. They will Identify ways to improve the operational support model for networking utilizing the various Solution Center levels and Operations Centers. This position will require frequent interaction with Networking  teammates globally as well as other IS groups.

 

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Provide accurate and thorough solutions to user interactions.
  • Escalate or transfer incidents and tasks as appropriate.
  • Support the implementation of a more efficient operational support model.
  • Provide advanced support for network related tasks.
  • Identify trends in support issues and enhance knowledge base to prevent future incidents.
  • Continuously develop communication skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to questions received in accordance with our standards.
  • Build effective relationships with Solution Centre, Operations Centre, Level 3 and global networking teams. 
  • Coordinate incident resolution and service request completion.
  • Participate in schedule rotations as needed, including weekend support.

 

Education/Experience and Skills

Technical Skills:

  • 4 years technical degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience of monitoring platforms – SolarWinds preferably.
  • Experience of Service Now ticketing system or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience of troubleshooting but not limited to:
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • VLANs
    • Switching
    • Routing
    • IP addressing
    • Wireless

 

The following considered a plus:

  • Experience with F5 environment -  GTM, LTM, APM
  • Experience of Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Understanding of Windows PowerShell/Ansible/Python.
  • Experience VeloCloud routers.
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification.

  • Customer service skills with the ability to provide consistent, positive end user experiences and address issues proactively.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to use all available resources to resolve or anticipate problems in turn creating or updating processes, procedures, and resolutions in the knowledgebase as needed.
  • Time management skills including setting appropriate expectations with end users for resolution.
  • Ability to be a team player, offering and accepting feedback and sharing knowledge with others, while being able to work independently and require minimal supervision.
  • Relationship-building skills including the ability to develop intra- and inter-team relationship as well as build and establish rapport with end users efficiently.
  • Multi-tasking abilities while focusing on effective prioritization of work.
