Job Description: Manager – Strategy and Localization, Lubrizol
Lubrizol is seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate for the Strategy team of India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region. This role is pivotal for ideation to execution of localization pillar of regional strategy covering the entire value chain. A successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall manufacturing localization, ensuring seamless execution of initiatives. Successful candidate will own KPIs linked to Localization in IMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading Localization Strategy
- Strategic planning and execution to improve Lubrizol material value chain (across RM to FGs) utilizing existing Lubrizol assets in the region and Strategic suppliers
- Create synergies between various localization initiatives
- Be a key partner in the make vs. buy decisions
- Liaison with global teams to align IMEA and global asset creation decisions
- Support business teams with preliminary feasibility assessments
- Fostering synergies across various projects, sites and third parties to enhance operational efficiency, execution speed and regional competitiveness
Working with regional and global cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, process technology and operations teams
- to execute localization initiatives effectively for local manufacturing and supply
- to align localization goals with broader business objectives and strategies
- supporting tech transfer from Process Technology teams
- decisions on best fit approach (In-house, tolling or contract manufacturing)
- Work with Process Safety and Trade Compliance teams for regulatory alignments
Problem-solving approach and Project Management
- Identify and remove roadblocks hindering the progress of localization projects
- Work with regional and global leadership for key decisions by providing regular updates
- Drive timely execution and track KPI driven progress
Compliance and Regulatory alignment
- Ensure compliance with regional regulations and standards in localization activities
- Support providing current & future sourcing plan to fulfil Make in India requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related discipline) and MBA preferred
- 7-10 years of experience with preference to candidates with background in Strategy, Consulting, creating and managing manufacturing partnerships
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of chemicals value chain
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment
- Execution focused, has inherent bias for action
